Short answer -- hydraulic pump for the 4410 is puttin' out more GPM than the 870. That's gonna mean faster loader response.
Manufacturers specifications for loaders, backhoes and such are a great topic of discussion here on TBN. Quite a bit of fuel for the fire when you start digging around that subject...
The 430 FEL has lower lift specs with the 990, 970 and 1070 tractors vs the 4300 and 4400 tractors. The operators manual for the 430 FEL has the lift capacity at the bucket edge with the 4400 tractor at 1045 lbs at full height and only 915 lbs with the 990 et al.
Same deal with the 440 loader on the model 870 tractor vs the 970 and 1070. Gonna be less on the 870 than the 970, etc.
Nonetheless, I seem to recall a post from Keoke that mentioned the 440 specs for his 970 tractor at around 1200 lbs. So, the long and short of this would be that the 440 FEL will have a lower lift capacity than the 430 FEL on your old 4410. Probably somethin' around ~200 lbs or so. The real deal is hydraulic pump GPM --- that you have already noted.
