I have a JD 4410 with 430 FEL and 47 backhoe. I am looking at a used JD 72" MMM that came off a 4310. It is said that it should fit.
Mower comes with the mower brackets (arms), front linkages, gearbox, and PTO shaft it is advertised as a 540 RPM PTO.
I know I need a mid mount PTO I think LVB25291, but that says 2000 rmp. Hmm so I am befuddled about that.
Any idea what else I am in for?
How will this mower lift up and down?
Do the mower linkages hook directly to the 4410? Or do I need some kind of mower linkage kit for the tractor?
I am pretty handy. Is this something I can do myself?

As I see it, both tractors have the same frame. And both have Mid PTO of 2000 rpm.. Don't understand the 540 rpm PTO advertised.
Should be a direct hookup if you get the mid mount PTO kit.

The mid-pto driven mowers use a 2250 rpm propshaft (21 spline -I'll have to look and count mine). If your gearbox is expecting a 540 6 spline pto, then a gearbox is added to your rear pto and a shaft is run forward to the MMM input. You need to know what rotation direction your mower requires relative to facing forward. Otherwise you are in for some serious head scratching. The mower deck, blades and gearboxes are interchangable with the F930-F935 and F11?? mower decks with slightly different mounting configurations.

Your mower is raised and lowered via linkages and rods that are drawn up by the lower 3pt arms. The retraction arms can be pinned in case you need the 3pt for other duties. That is, assuming you have the proper frame drop plates.

the mid pto is 2000 rpm might be hard to find if your tractor doesn't have , you need a scv valve on back and a lift kit with more brackets and a cylinder that mount and stay on the tractor , also may be obsolete in kit form from jd so real pricey in pieces. { I have a mount kit and cylinder} contact me waycoolmarine@aol.com but your tractor needs scv and you need mid pto the above posts refer to larger tractors the 3 point lift attachments don't work on this series tractor they start at 4500/4510 which is the next size

Yikes.
The 72" mower I want to buy was taken off a 4210. They brought the gent's tractor in and removed the stuff from it. So I assume the "stuff" are all the linkages and such that in need to get this to work. I am also thinking the statement about a 540 PTO mower must be incorrect as it was being used with a mid mount PTO on the 4210..which I am sure would be the larger RPM. As far as the SCV goes, I have the cluster of 4 for the loader. I also have 1 in the back that is used for my backhoe...I think they call it power beyond. There is like a jumper hose hose that us used when the backhoe is off, which allows the 3pt arms to go up and down. When the backhoe is on, then the bypass hose is unhooked, and the backhoe is plugged in. So it sounds like I would NOT have the SCV at the back of the tractor. Not sure i am linking where this is going :(

Sounds workable with what you have and what the belly mower came of of (4210). You can add a 3rd SCV if you need to, and all depends on how bad you want a belly mower.

I'm in a similar boat with my 4300 I bought. I have the rear scv but didn't get most of the brackets for the mounting the 72" mower. I decided I'll be time and money ahead to sell the belly mower and buy a good used 318 to mow the yard. If you have to buy the parts from the dealer it adds up to several thousand dollars. I've been striking out trying to find the parts used. Good luck and I'll be interested to see what you find! I've seen a lift setup that works on the 3-point referenced but I don't believe it actually exists for the 4300, not sure about the 4410 but sounds like the same issue.

I have 72 mmm on my 4400. I use two ports off the front loader to raise and lower mower deck....came from dealer like that. Yes you will need mounting brackets. The raise/ lower cylinder is under the left side of floor board as you sit on tractor. Hoses go under tractor and connect into the loader connectors. NOT sure where you are but I don't use my mower at all. Could part with it along with all hardware and brackets if you are interested. Looks to be plug and play as long as you have mid PTO and loader hookups.
