JD 4440 price check

Neighbor helped me mow with his 4440. I drove a little bit and did not notice any strange noises. PTO works fine. The hour meter shows around 5000 but not working. It's got a flat front tire. I am very new to tractors and not sure if I should buy a 40 year old one, but I do hear good things about the 4440.

Can this model attach a front loader? What would be a good offer price for this tractor?

It is no creampuff. Powershift or Quadrange? A/C working? 2 or 3 remotes? Does the cab interior look any better than the outside?
Yes, you can put a loader on it. Figure the hours to be about double what the meter shows.
Do you need a 120 HP tractor? Do you need a project? I wouldn’t offer anything more than the mid teens for it and that probably will not buy it. Whatever you are looking for, you can do better.

Quadrangle. Ac not cold. Inside is pretty beat up. 120 hp is probably ok for my needs but 80 should do just fine, which is mowing about 70 acres.

I recently sold a JD 5525, in great shape. A 2008 model. It had three year old self level loader, power reverser, three ranges with four speed transmission, four wheel drive, cab with great a/c, dual rear remotes and economy 540 pto with rear wheel weights for $32,000. Oh the tractor had just over 2,500 hours. Tractor is 91 hp gross. It would be hard for me to pay $15,000 for the tractor you are asking about.
