Tractor
John Deere 3720
I have a JD 3720 with the JD 448 Backhoe.
The stick extends but retracts real slow with no force digging.
When the tractor is shut down, the stick can be moved.
Every other hydraulic function is ok on the backhoe.

Suggestions

Thanks

Welcome,
Sounds like the cylinder is at fault, perhaps the piston has come off of the end of the rod.

More likely the piston seal has been damaged since there is some movement. Best way to tell issue is a pressure gauge.

It wasn't the cylinder.
It was the valve "O" rings.
Thanks for the input.
