JD 4600 SCV will not operate bucket up or down

While operating bucket heard a loud bang and bucket would not respond to up or down command. Just had machine repaired by JD dealer and cost was off wall. What has happened? Can I repair? (Have shop) Do parts have to come from JD?

try switching the bucket hoses with the lift cylinder hoses at the quick connect. If the loader raises, but wont, dump, you have a crappy outlet. Remember that after you switch them, you'll need to test raising the loader by moving the joystick left-right, instead of front-back. outlets are easy to fix, but youre going to get wet and angry.
