first time tractor buyer here.

I did my research and drove a few. Tractor will be used for Texas hill country ranch work manly Brush Hogging and Road Work. 100 acres or so.

I narrowed it down to these two, JD 5075E CAB vs Mahindra 6075 CAB. both dealers are 40 mins away. that's close for me.

JD 5075E CAB, 12/12, MFWD with 520 loader paired with JD MX7 Shredder and JD box blade. JD Dealer is more established 1939, great reviews.

Mahindra 6075 Cab with loader with titan Implements 1607 HD Shredder and Titan box blade. Mahindra dealer is more of a toy shop, but also has great reviews. his deal is 4k less.

Leaning towards Mahindra.. has more features for less money.

would love to hear what the forum thinks...thanks.

Deere will be around forever but who knows about Mahindra. I'm sure the Mahindra is a good machine but for resale value and dealer resiliency, Deere is a safe choice. The Deere dealer in Marble Falls has a good reputation (we are 30 miles west of Fredericksburg by the way.)

Hi john thanks for your input neighbor. certainly a concern of mine but I have offset that with they are assembled in east Texas and Mahindra in the #1 selling tractor in the world, I think they are here to stay, and making huge push into Texas. I am originally from IL so i always wanted a green tractor. but its not just the Mahindra Tractor that seems to better its the 1607 Shredder too, its beast of shredder.

The JD dealer is Goldwaithe and they seems to be top notch but the JD tractor is made in India and the reviews are a bit mixed.

Both of my MX mowers are quite good, zero complaints. Sounds like you have made your decision.

I feel like I might have, but that's why i am asking :) ..... how does your MX mower handle the thicker brush. I have a lot of mesquites ( maybe 2in at the thickest), I want to use the front loader to knock them down, drive over them, and then the MX7 to shred them up....good plan?

I can understand the dealer support thing.
There seems to be a Kubota and Deere dealer on every corner.
I'm about to buy a McCormick tractor. There is only one dealer close to me. He has been business for 30+ years

I'm not knocking down and shredding brush like that but I suppose any shredder would work fine. My MX8 or MX7 will certainly break limestone rocks :)

By the way, I don't need my MX8 pull shredder if you might be interested, you need a rear control valve to raise/lower it. It came with my 4720 when I bought it used from the dealer. It's a bit of a hassle to use since the 3 point hitch links need to be removed. The previous owner only mowed with the tractor so it lived on the rear.

I'm curious you say that you have to remove your 3 point hitch links, why?
Is this a pull type that hitches to your fixed drawbar with a hydraulic cylinder to raise and lower the unit?
We use mostly drawbar pulled implements and don't remove the 3 point lift arms?
Some implements we may lower the lift arms all the way down, usually they are most of the way lifted.

Yes, the pull MX8 does attach to the drawbar. There's one hydraulic cylinder to raise the deck by pushing down the two rear wheels (on an axle) and it lowers by releasing the cylinder pressure (it's a one way cylinder.) How far it lowers depends on the number of spacers placed on a rod. I suppose I could make it work with the 3 point linkage in place, I didn't try real hard. The 3-point hitch MX8 is too heavy for my 4720 and I don't like to pull a mower due to some areas I shred with very limited maneuvering room. My 3-point MX6 is much better suited for my property.

make sure the bottom of the tractor is well protected as running over brush will tear things up (filters, hoses, hydraulic lines). Messicks recommends backing over big brush when mowing with a regular bush hog, but I wonder if people really do that
