I'm looking to replace my rusted out 4 foot cutter with a 5 footer. I ran across a used but in excellent shape JD516. Anyone have any experiences with this model?

I had a 516 for many years. Just traded it in a package to get my cost down for a 4520 tractor. Had some regrets about losing it. I used the 516 for clearing old logging roads and trail thru the woods here in Western Wis. It performed fine. One thing that I didn't like was the deck's lower edge, which was a lip turned to a horizontal 2" thereabouts. It was easy (and occurred frequently) to back up or turn sharply, causing the deck to hit a tree etc. Which then bent the lip up.
My unit had the slip clutch, so I never had a problem when hitting a stump, rock, whatever -- it worked good. The stump jumper disk on the blades got me over just about every obstacle. Didn't have to sharpen the blades -- they were plenty sturdy.
My unit had the chain curtain across the front -- the mount brackets would get hung up and bent occasionally, which I had to straighten with the sledge hammer Honestly, a rotary cutter is pretty basic hardware -- not much to go wrong.
Thanks. My dealer has it at his Somerset location for $800. I'm going to ask him to bring up to the Gardnersville location for me to look at. I didn't think there would be any issues.
