Hi folks, have single rear SCV and Power Beyond on my tractor. Running backhoe from the PB and was running hydraulic thumb off the SCV. Recntly, thumb quit working, determined that the electric portion was fine, thumb worked fine plugged solo into the PB. Popped a hydraulic hose with an open end in the SCV coupler and activated, no flow. Today I pulled the end cap off the SCV and found it filled with what appears to be baked hydraulic fluid.
So the first question is if I pull the whole SCV assembly valve, pipes, couplings etc, and get shorter bolts will the PB cover bolt back on, without leaking, to the plate the SCV is usually against?
Doing an online search these seem to be crazy expensive items, pricing around $1,200. Anybody know who the actual OEM is? I strongly suspect that it isn't JD.
Is there a rebuild kit available?
And the final question is how did I cook this thing? I do run a PTO chipper so the tranny does get blazing hot after a few hours, would that have been enough? And why does my PB still work, since the fluid has to go through the SCV?
Thanks,
Jim
