JD 5300 with 520 FEL connected to the rear scv outlets.
To use a rear mounted implement such as a disc mower or tedder with a single hydraulic function I have always disconnected what I think is the "A" coupler (raise function for the loader) and connected the implement. The disc mower should be operated in the float position and I do push the the joystick forward and lock it into float. The issue I am having is that it engages and dis-engages with some difficulty, and it seems to labor the engine significantly more than if the mower was simply lowered and the lever released back to its neutral position. My basic understanding of the float function is that the fluid flows freely through the circuit. Im not sure how that is accomplished with only one hose from the implement connected. It is almost like there is some sort of dead heading going on. It may be me but it seems that if I go in and out of float more slowly the problem is not quite as noticeable.
Thanks
