I have gone through a ton of Top & Tilt threads and have a couple of questions about applying them to my 5300. Right now I have the DSCV's on the rear of the tractor. They are used by the front loader and controlled by the loader Control Valve. When I bought the tractor I thought it was kind of dumb to have them there, but I guess it would make sense if I were going to disconnect the loader when using rear implements. However I have no intentions of ever taking it off.

Therefore what I would like to do is move the loader disconnects to under the right floorboard where they are on my 4100. Then use the existing disconnects for Top & Tilt. I also plan on putting a 5th SCV where the factory 3rd SCV would typically go at the rear. I assume that I can get the lever and additional parts from JD to make that happen without much problem. I plan to mount the 2 spool valve for the Top & Tilt somewhere on the right fender. Does anybody know how hard it is going to be for me to make these changes. Where the spooler is now it is really hard to see how difficult this is going to be. Is my idea feasible?

What my intentions are is to be able to run a boxblade with hydraulic scarifiers without disconnecting the loader, but I would prefer not to have all 5 ports at the back of the tractor. If I ever get a grapple for the loader will I need a 6th SCV?

Jimmy - have you thought of using the hydraulic circuit multiplier that comprise of an aluminum block with appropriate electric solenoids and hydraulic quick disconnects to gain your additional circuits. Since you already have quick disconnects at the rear, this may be the simplest method and you would not have to add additional valves and hoses as everything would already be on the rear of your tractor. I have seen these in TSC and other farm catalogues prices at around $400 if I recall.

I have never seen or heard of a hydraulic circuit multiplier. Is there somewhere on the net that I can view one and learn more about them? I have never really worked with hydraulics before other than replacing the occasional blown hydraulic line on a backhoe or dozer.

Jimmy - try V&M Inc at vandminc.com - they carry a number of different units. I have spoke to them when I was looking to add T&T to my JD790, good people, good advice, but I went the standard valve route. Hope this helps.

I talked to a fella at V & M today and he reccomended a 4 button something-or-other. Essentially what it would have done is allowed me to use the Loader Control handle to control handle to work all 5 SCV's. With their setup moving the Loader controller left or right would still control the buckets roll. What they add are four buttons to the top of the handle. So if i were to push button #1 the front to back would motion of the handle would control the loader up/down. Button #2 would be for the top link, button #3 would be for the tilt, and button #4 for the scarifier. Sounds neat but I could definitely see me hitting the wrong button at times during the winter when wearing heavy gloves. Also this little unit costs $769. I would still need the cylinders, fittings, hoses and the labor. He said a controller for what I need would be $1,000+. From what I have seen I should be able to get a 3 spool valve for under $250. Am I missing something or is this guy just trying to sell me their latest gizmo?
