I have a 5400 with loader. My neighbor has been using the tractor, and now I have a problem. The right side loader mount bolts apparently worked out, and the loader shifted, striking the oil filter. I don't know the nomenclature of some of the parts, but I have an oil leak where the assembly hooks to the block. You have the oil filter, then the oil cooler, then the piece that is broken -- it is between the oil cooler and block, kind of an "L" shaped cast piece. I got the loader back where it belongs and secure. I got the parts I think I need.

I've taken the oil filter off then the part that the filter screws to, that holds the oil cooler on. I've removed the oil cooler. There is not enough clearance, I don't think, to remove the broken piece, due to the hydraulic pump. I don't know how the hydraulic pump comes off or apart. Has anyone been in this situation, and what is the fix? I thought I had my big tech manual here at the farm, but it must be at home (6 hours away). I'm going to try and find some parts diagrams online. Any help would be greatly appreciated, so I can get back to turkey/mushroom hunting!

Maybe this photo will help you repair the oil leak.

Thanks, #4 is broken. I have all of those parts, just trying to figure out how to remove from the block with the hydraulic pump in the way.

TX Jim beat me to a pic, but what I found on the Deere parts site https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/

was this illustration.. Hope this is not adding confusion.. but the Deere link should allow the OP to explore for more info if needed.

I think I'd have it fixed quick, if I knew how to take the hydraulic pump off. The suction line on the bottom, and the pump is in the way of taking the bolt that holds #4 on. Any help?
