Operator manual says to change the hydraulic filter every 250 hours. Does this mean I can change the filter without draining the oil first?
Surely don't want to remove the filter and have oil come gushing out. Thanks.

Hopefully, others will respond, but I think for the most part what will come out is only what is in the filter. The sump that holds the hydraulic filter is lower than the filter. I have not tired this, but I have read a few posts that said to put a suction hose on where the hydraulic fluid goes in to hold back the fluid here is a post that speaks to that.

At least on my 5210 the hydraulic filter is much bigger than the oil filter, so my oil wrench would not fit it. I borrowed a filter wrench strap, between not much room and how tight it was it took some patience and muscle to get it off.

You will lose only what oil is in the filter. Add new oil to the new filter, spin it on and go. I have three of the 5X03 tractors, all the same.
