So I picked up a bigger section of land and the little old MF 230 won't cut it so I picked up a JD 5510 Cab MFWD. This place has black land and sandy areas. It has decent grass in spots but needs working. The place hasn't been turned in 30 plus years so I want to renovate/disc it. I found a nice 14' BWA disc in great shape locally but wasn't sure about how the 5510 and BWA would act together. Thoughts?

Thoughts? How about a location in your profile? tks, as that helps understand better.

Trying to understand "black land and sandy areas".
"BWA" disc .. ??

In South central TX it is well known. Black clay but fertile is the best way I can describe it. Hard as heck when dry and gets big cracks. Once moisture gets right it is fairly easy to work but a little too wet and it痴 wet black clay consistency again.

Welcome to TBN
I think a 75 pto HP MFWD tractor should pull a 14' JD BWA disk harrow in black soil just fine. Sandy soil might cause one to need to lower harrow carrier tires a little. Another thought if harrow is too much load for 5510 is to adjust disk angle less. I still remember selling/delivering new JD BWA disk harrows.
