Jd 6420 suspected electrical issues help!!

Hello all. I am having a bit of an issue maybe someone can help. The farm which I work has a jd 6420. Now the tractor will not start unless the throttle is wide open, and upon starting the tractor will limit Rpm to 1100. Now if I shut the tractor down and restart it, the machine will rev fine. Also after operations say half hr or a hr once shut down the machine will not start until it has cooled down. Now I have been told to check the fuel moisture sensor but other than that I'm flying blind. I did notice the machine has a fuel leak somewhere as there is diesel on the underside of the tractor. I have pics of the injection pump if it helps. Any input will be appreciated

How old is that machine? Is it computerized or not?

I had all manner of fuel issues with our 6200 which didn't end until I replaced ALL the lines to and from the tank. Big puddles under the machine, no (or hard) starting. No computers in ours, Thank God!

You would think, they used old fuel line from the 1940s. That fabric coated stuff. Garbage!

G'day Mate, I defer to Industrial Toys as he's got the hard-earned experience with a JD closer to your size. Leaking fuel is never a good thing as you could be introducing air or other contaminate into the fuel line.
