- Ford 9n with John Deere #7 Backhoe
Hello All,
not sure if this is the best area to post my question, but I figured I would start here and see what happens.
I have a John Deere #7 Backhoe. The dipper stick hydraulic cylinder is bent and when I looked at the parts catalog from JD they show that the part for the dipper and boom are supposed to be the same. The ones on mine are not so I assume the previous owner already replaced the dipper stick (and/or Boom) with wrong spec hydraulic cylinder. The question I have is what is the dimensions of the original equipment (its not mentioned on the JD parts site). I plan on ordering a generic replacement online that will work, but I was hoping to get as close to the right size as possible. The bent one has a 1 inch rod and the others are 1.25 so I am guessing the 1.25 is close to original, but it seems the size on the boom is not right either as it is too long for the dipperstick unless JDparts.com is wrong? Very confused. Any help would be appreciated for someone out there that has a 7 they can pull some measurements off of.
I know the current cylinder has 1 inch pins with cross tube on rod end and pass through on base, roughly 2.5 inch wide. I would guess about 19 or 20 inch stroke. About 27 inch retracted and 46 extended. I'm guessing a 2 inch bore. Any help would be wonderful and appreciated.
Hope you guys can help me!
