JD 743 steering box

I have a JD 743 self propelled sprayer with steering box problems. Anyone out there know of any complete boxes, part # AN85455N or output shaft, part # AN85460N for sale. Thanks, Terryz

Both those part numbers show up as invalid on JD's website. Are you sure it's a 743 sprayer as there's no parts catalog either?

I'm sorry, the model number is a 734, I got my numbers crossed. Terry

NO problem. After viewing the parts catalog #792 I find you hvd a unique steering box. I wonder if a 600 Hi cycle box could be made to work? A local equip. dealer has had one of those for sale for several years if it hasn't gone on a boat to China.

the 600 machines used 2 boxes, the early ser # machines used a box with 2 fastening bolts mounted on a stand that appears to be a casting, later machines used the same box as the 700 machines. The steering shaft and bottom coupling are the same part#s. If you could supply a name and phone # for the dealer I would appreciate it. Thanks, Terry

I contacted the equip dealer. He stated his was a 600A with a 3cyl gasoline engine. He wants $1000 for it.

Thanks for looking. The 600a uses a hydrostatic steering system. the old 600 & 700 series uses a mechanical armstrong steering system. Thanks again, Terry
