what type of backhoe does a JD 750 use? I want to start looking for one but I don't know what to search for. If anyone has one, can you post some pictures of how it is connected to the tractor. Thanx

Tractordata does not list a BH for the 750. It is pretty small, only 18 PTO HP. I don't know if JD made one but I would think a Taylorway (TaylorPittsburg) model 766, Kelly B10, or other aftermarket 6' BH might work but you'd have to build a sub frame to support the BH and not rely on the 3 pt. Both the ones I note are self contained BH's and come with a PTO pump. Either one of these is going to weigh about half of what the entire tractor weighs. I did find a 750 JD during a search showing a JD model 7 BH. A friend of mine has the same on his 790 so it may fit but finding a used one might be hard.

I think you could purchase an aftermarket backhoe for your JD 750 from two suppliers: Coldwater, Koyker.

Here is a picture of a JD 750 with #7 Backhoe, just saw the picture through a search, JD parts also shows #7 application to the 750 and the 650!

Yep, a #7 backhoe...not a particularly rare item either. They were available on several of the 1980's and 1990's Deere CUTS (670, 770 and 790) and might still be available for the 790's successor, the 3005. I see them on Craigslist occasionally.
If you use Search Tempest (SearchTempest Online Classifieds Search - All the Classifieds. One Search.), you can broaden a CL search. The subframe may be more of a problem to find...

As George2615 wrote, the 750 is a pretty small tractor, but like most Deere CUTS, very capable and tough....I'd guess tougher then some of the newer brands. As long as you understand that this is a small tractor and work within it's limits (don't expect to dig a deep sewer trench), it's a handy tool for a 5-10 acre property.

Thanks guys, the information has been really helpful. I LOVE my 750 and it does everything I ask of her and then some. I only have a couple of acres and a huge pond that I've been trying to clean up and get access too. The land had been neglected for many decades. The sad thing is that the backhoe's I've been finding cost more than what I paid for the tractor. Anyway, I'll keep looking.

Does anyone have or know of someone that has a No. 7 backhoe for sale?

Is the 8A backhoe too big for th 750? There is one on e-bay I'd like to bid on.

Yes...way too big....you'd need a 970 or 1070 to handle the backhoe.

#7 'hoes are available occasionally, but if you're in a hurry, aftermarket 'hoes might be your best bet.

Thank you. I'll keep looking.
Matoyan, I went thru the same thing, I finally got fed up. The hoes I found for my 4200 was fairly high, wasn't all there or a long ways from home. I broke down and went aftermarket with a woods bh6000 with thumb. Subframe mount. I have a lot of work lined up for it, irrigation lines to trench for the paddocks, water troughs and the ponds. A sewer line to fix, small trees, brush, and scrub to clean up, so I could justify buying new. It was 7750 installed with the thumb. There supposed to put it on when I get home from my hitch here at work. I plan on doing a full thread on it when I get using it. Hope this will help. LUTT

I'll second checking out Woods Backhoes. I just got a BH70-X for my JD 790. Wanted the JD #7, but no longer available, and no thumb. I see on an older Woods matrix, attached, that they list the JD 750/790 as using the BH70-X and 80. I like the BH70-X, it looks great, right size, for this sized tractor, they painted it green, uses a tractor mounted sub-frame.

I can get a D100 pretty cheap and I'm wondering if my JD750 handle it and is it something I can modify to fit on the tractor?
