Okay, I just recently bought a 750 and I've been trying to replace the fluids on the tractor. It took me 4 hours to get the hydraulic filter off - i had to disconnect the whole filter attachment and then cut it off with a Dremmell. Then I tried to get the oil filter off and it won't budge. I'm more scared to try to force this one off since it's harder to have access to it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the filter off? It seems as if the filters have never been replaced on this tractor!!!

I had the same problem on one of the two 750's that I used to have. What you might try, as a last resort, is taking a big screwdriver and pounding it through the filter, dead center of it, and close to the screw on fitting (but not too close to the fitting). Then put a really good oil filter wrench on the filter. With an extra pair of hands to help you, one person grab the screwdriver (one hand on each end of the screwdriver) and turn while the other person turns the wrench.

With the both of you cranking on it, the filter *should* break free. If the oil filter wrench still slips, you might try driving another big screwdriver through it a right angle to to the first screwdriver. The risk doing it this way is that the thin outer wall of the oil filter might tear and the screwdriver(s) could rip it open like a can opener. You just have to apply a steady pressure to it, and watch for it to start tearing. Hopefully it will start turning first. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Before you crush the filter with your filter wrench, slide the wrench up as close to the engine as you can as the filter is stronger next to it's rim.

Thanks guys, I'm going to try topstoy's suggestion first and then I'll break out the screwdriver and try the brute force method.
