I was wondering if any of you know the tricks to replacing the PTO seal on a older JD 750? It is a old tractor that I bought a few years ago and just used for a little brush hogging and a brag harrow. My problem is when using it last week is started leaking and blowing the hydraulic fluid out around the PTO shaft and it appears that the seal is missing. I have a manual for it but after following it I am going to ask as I can't seem to find a answer for it. I assume the PTO engagement lever must be removed to pull the gear cluster out and replace the seal. What I cannot seem to find is how I go about doing that. I am open to other peoples knowledge and help so I can fix this issue so I can get this tractor up and running again.
On a side note this is a cool forum and has lots of info. Sorry if its a easy fix I'm just new to working on tractors. This is a far cry from my kids MX bikes and Karts and I want to make sure I repair it correctly
