I have a John Deere 755, while working I could smell diesel and notice liquid leaking from the engine compartment. I shut it down and readied the extingusher, but only smoke came out. I supposed the fuel hose broke, but no, the fitting came out of the filter housing. It appears to be a press fit, not good for fuel under pressure. So I pushed it back in and put a hose clamp around it and the filter to hold it in ( it is an ell so that pulled it in). So a few weeks later the tractor starts, but is sputtering, I shut it down and find the output side fitting is now off, and dumping fuel. this is a straight fitting and cannot be wrapped up. I pushed it back in and it won't come out now, but my trust in the integrity is shot. I would replace the bowl assy but don't trust a new press fit one. Is there a good after market bowl/filter available? Is this a common problem?
