Owned this tractor 1986
Always was dependable
Recently been having some age problems with the 755 like myself!
On start up following happens.
Warm weather
Wait for glow plug - engine starts immediately at mid throttle, but quickly falls back to a very rough idle like its starving for fuel.
Colder weather
Wait for glow plug - engine starts at mid throttle but immediately runs very rough, again, as if its starving for fuel. engine eventually picks up its revs and runs relatively smoothly.
It both cases the with any kind of minor load the engine loses significant power, even a small grade.
Having had the 755 I am use to normal power losses based on the type of work, but this is abnormal.
So...what have I done. Replaced breather element, changed fuel filter in sediment bowl, cleaned bowl, installed new bleed screws and copper washers(bowl and injector pump), address a possible fuel supply problem. This resulted in no improvement.
Had a diesel mechanic remove and inspect injector pump and governor, nor apparent issues. He did, however try to tighten injectors and did twist lower nut, has this put the engine out of time ??
A very strange (to me anyway) thing happens in cold weather, when starting the engine immediately runs rough. If I work the hydraulic lever the engine will almost immediately lose its rough idle and run smoothly making me think that the load and load loss may be connected to the hydraulics ?? Could this be a bad filter?
All for now, I love this tractor...help
