JD 755 mid 60" mower PTO shaft

I have an older mid mower on my jd755 and the pto shaft is worn out. The part I need is AM107599 and I cannot find it. I did locate a AM101858 which is also for a jd755, but with a newer mower. I know the AM101858 shaft has a different implement end. So, I know I can remove my old end and install it on the AM101858, both shafts use the same cross bearing. But will the lengths of both shafts the same ? My shaft is a clamp style while the newer shaft uses a spring roll pin. Two local dealers are no help....
