JD 790 seat suspension broke....

Any 790 owners, have you ever had to replace the two foam rubber pieces that hold the seat springs in place?? Mine broke last weekend so I guess I'll be making a trip to my JD dealer. It looks like all I need to replace are the two rubber pieces that tore apart, I think they're held in place with just a single bolt that runs down through the very center of them. Is that all there is to it???? If you ask me, that foam rubber material was not a very good choice to use for this application. I'm afraid to learn how much these two little pieces are going to cost me!

Look it up on JDParts and get the price yourself...you can even order them there and they will be at your dealer in 2 days ready for pickup.

Replaced mine a couple of years ago,don't remember the cost (just remember it wasn't cheep). There is just one bolt in each side .Had the dealer ship them to me,because the shipping cost was less than I could drive there to get them.As suggested check the J>D>web site.

I think you could reinvent the wheel here. Wouldn't take much to modify this application to something more permanent. Not a close tolerence fit and open to alot of possibilities.

Kenny, thanks for the suggestion. I did register there and went through the parts catalog. They list for $20.26 each. Ouch. I might get some gorilla glue and try to glue them back together!!!
