JD 855 bucket won't lift...

So back story.. Tractor had been sitting for a while .. we finally moved and got it to he new house..

Everything else works.. when you lift it makes a noise like it's fighting something...

I took the hose off and the pintle (I think that's what it is) seems bound up.. It didn't want to move... I can understand those in quick connects but seems like a failure point in a hard connection...

Do they go bad?? what else should I be looking at...

the valve body seems ok and like I say the other 3 functions and the rear work just fine..

By pintle I assume you mean the poppet on the quick couplers?

IF they were originally connected they should be depressed. If you disconnected them and then moved something either physically or hydraulically, you how have pressure behind the poppet. A 1/4" diameter poppet with 2500PSI behind it will take over 100lbs to depress and relieve the fluid.

The male fittings can be tapped against the loader frame to be relieved....or tapped with a hammer. (wear glasses cause it will spurt oil).

The female fittings can be tapped on with a hammer and little punch.

IF you can get the couplers reseated try again and report the results.

But yes, they can and do fail which requires replacement. But if I understand your post correctly, you disconnected them and now cannot get the poppet to move to be able to reconnect and test again. Try the above and report back

you could have a broken, or damaged O ring in your valve. Also check your oil level. if it's low it could be cavatating the pump.
