I just replaced the 4 hoses on my 1987 Jd 950 with a 75 series loader. The old hoses were breaking apart so I figured better safe than sorry. I got all my new hoses on and now the loader has a mind of its own, sometimes it gos up sometimes it go’s up halfway and emits a loud wine. Sometimes the bucket will curl in and out sometimes it wont and I get the same wine. I checked my hyd oil level and its still on the upper 2/3 of the dipstick.

I was hoping it was just air in the lines at first but I’ve been cycling them for about 30 minutes and it still isnt working right. Worked fine before I replaced the lines.

Is there some kind of bleeding valve or procedure? I looked in the shop manual and couldnt find anything.

One thing to note, I ordered 1/2” hoses instead of 3/8” on accident and couldnt return them so instead of buying a whole nother set of hoses I just bought reducers. Not sure if that could cause any issues.

Did you checked the fluid level? I don't think it would lose that much fluid just replacing the lines but could have been low before as well.

When you replaced the lines, did you mark them so you would put the new ones in the same ports?

Another interesting note is that if I use both functions at the same time it works perfectly. For example if I raise and curl in at the same time it sounds normal and works great, same with lowering and dumping the bucket but as soon as I go back to one function it go’s back to acting up

Yeah I even pulled it in the garage so it was perfectly level and it checks good. And yes the lines are in the same places as before. The levers are doing the correct functions just not operating normally

From my ongoing research there are different setups for this tractor so I want to post a few more pictures so people know which I have.

The whining nose is coming from the unit directly under the seat where the fluid is coming in from the pump. It only whines when the loader stops moving. The power steering and 3pt systems both seem to be operating normally.

Whine, or squeal?
Squeal is the bypass when something is blocked.
Haha man I’m not really sure… is there any way to post videos on here?

I still suspect the lines may not be connected correctly. I would triple check that. That's about the only thing you changed.

That seems like the obvious error I just don’t get why would the bucket go halfway up and stop… its going up like it should corresponding to the correct control movement.

It seems more like its not getting fluid or air in the system. Is there any way to bleed this system or should it self purge?
