JD B with Frontier 3 pt disc

The old B can barely pick this up, 6 1/2 foot Frontier DH1180. It will lift about a foot off the ground and that's all, unless I lift on the adjusting handle on the back off the disk, only takes less than 50lbs of assistance from me and it lifts all the way. Sure is a lot handier than the old pull type disk.

JD engineers thought the "B" was too light in frt end for a 3pt hitch.

Did you buy and install the 3pt hitch on that B, or did it come that way?
Looks like a few hundred pounds of weight on the front end of the tractor would solve your problem.
Hope to find a B of my own this summer. Really looking forward to Johnny Poppin' around my hayfield

It is an aftermarket 3 point I bought. It is the cheaper one out there, $400. It connects to the drawbar support, which is a weak link in the system, I tweaked one side of the drawbar support. while plowing snow with a 7 foot blade. I do have 4-40lb weights on the front which is plenty for my 6 foot rear finish mower which weighs over 600lbs, but the front end will dance with this disc lifted up. I have room for 1 more 40lb weight which would help, but 100 more would be nice. Actually I have a bracket to mount a deep cell marine battery in-between the weight bracket, I'll just put the battery in there next time. I use the battery to power lights while plowing snow, this is a handstart, no electric system B.
