JD B, Year Unknown

This JD B was probably the last one used. Can't locate SN data plate to determine year.

That looks just a bit worse than my jd B when I got it.. Mines a 1950.. in case you aren't familair with them.. the sn plate is on the right lower side near the magneto... should be a wico 'c' I think for that model..

It is a styled model too.. nice..

I'm not familiar with them at all. Found the SN plate on the old A, but haven't been able to locate it on the other two. The A in the shed has a red wasp nest in the stack so I'm watching it pretty close when in there. Seems that the old man went to Farmall's after these JD's. There are four or five of them around in pretty rough shape. There are several (12-15) piles of plows, toolbars, etc around that I haven't been able to identify yet except for some used with the Super-C. I'm trying to clip around them and use my bucket/toothbar to move the tools into cleared areas so I can try to see what they go with. The family is interested in cleaning up and getting rid of this stuff eventually and I hate to see it go to a junkpile or scrapyard. The old cultivator frames, planters, etc. are hard to find, and I guess hard to find a buyer for too. If I can get some of the stuff together as it "seems" it would work on the tractor I may post some pictures to see if anyone could help to ID. Thanks for the tip about the dataplate. It'll help knowing where it's SUPPOSED to be.

Glenn, That's a late model B. Due to the battery box seat and the stamped frame it had to have been made between 1948-1952.

Collectors will pay huge money for original intact cultivators. They seem like one attachment that really held their value. Plows and harrows, well you get what you can.
