JD GX345 engine wont start / dies after starting, runs fine other times

I suspect i have a problem w/ neutral safety switch - symptoms are engine won't start - getting fuel/air. Sometimes it will start right up, other times it won't. When it does start, it runs perfectly and then will suddenly die - like you got up off the seat. This is why i think i have a problem w/ the neutral safety switch as after i move the brake peddle, it would start. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I think the brake switch on these are a simple 2 prong - easy to put the ohmmeter on and see if you can get it to fail. Though not super easy to get at. I don't know how much grass is packed up above there on yours, but worth a look that the linkage allows enough travel to fully engage the switch.

Can you point me to where i would locate the switch? I have searched the online parts schematics and cant find it.

Does the engine have a low oil pressure or level switch on it? If so that could be causing the engine to shut off.

I'll pretend that I know it is on the frame rail to the rear of the pedal. If you haven't pulled the deck do so and it should be easier to find.
