JD GX355 experiences?

I stopped at my local JD dealer last nite to price out a JD GX355. Much to my surprise, he said the yare no longer in production, despite being pictured in the 2004 brochure. He said they wer not very big seller due to noise and vibration. Have any of you experienced this on your GX355? Another dealer has one at a very reasonable price and I still intend to check it out. Just wondering if any of you have found this to be true.

Can't help with the GX355, but I think I recall your mentioning a 455 in another thread. We use a 455 with 60" deck to mow and it has been a good one. Somewhere around 1500 hours on it now with minimal problems and good parts availability. They're no longer in production either I don't think.

I own a 2001 355D and I love it. I have the 54" mower and I cut my acre in no time. I have AG tires all the way around and 210 pounds of suitcase weights in the back. That tractor can really push the snow! It virbates a bit at low throttle, but it is smooth at full throttle. I have about 230 hours on mine since September 2001 and I did not push snow the first two winters. I use Mobile Delvac 1 synthetic motor oil. Awsome machine. It has a hydraulic lift, but no hydraulics in the front or rear.

I have not heard people complain at work about this model. I would test drive it and see what you think. JD has the 30 JD promise so if you don't like it you can bring it back!
