JD LX178 hour meter location

I just picked up an hour meter for a pretty good price and was wondering where it would be placed on my tractor. There happens to be a perfectly sized hole when you lift the hood on the left side, which would place it just behind the battery near the top when it slides in.

I had a LX188 and the meter was at the location you described.

What type of hour meter? I installed a digital one on my LX178 on the dash. See photo.

That's a nice meter and neat install Shimon.

The one I picked up is a round meter, about 2" diameter. I saw a meter online that was specified for my tractor as well as a series of others and it looked similar to the one I picked up. It seems easy enough to mount it under the hood as the hole is already there. I don't have a need to see it at all times, and could actually do without one but thought it would be nice to have.
