JD LX277 AWS Battery light on dash going off and on.

I have a LX277 with the 17 HP engine. My battery light on the dash comes on and goes off at random times. Sometimes it will stay on for several minutes and other times it will come on for a few seconds. I don't have issues when it comes to cranking it. Do any of you have any idea what might be causing it to do this?

Check the out put at VR, it should anywhere around 13.8 at 1/2 throttle, to 14.3 at WOT. If you have that then the detector circuit needs attention, check grounds and check the the wire that senses voltage for the circuit. I do not have the TM, Maybe someone else will and can check the diagnostic and electrical schematic.
