I've just rescued my tractor after leaving it with a person who was supposed to be maintaining one of my out of town properties. It's been several years and I really never got a chance to familiarize myself with it. I bought it from a neighbor, the original owner, and then left it on the property so that it was on site for this person to use. Of course, the poor tractor wasn't maintained the way it should have been.
I've had a friend who works with heavy equipment and an assortment of different tractors come over and do a basic maintenance once over. With the tractor is a JD LX6 rotary cutting deck which has also been neglected. Upon checking the fluid in it's gear case we have discovered that the oil is milky white. I am being told that this is mostly likely because there is water mixed in.
I reviewed the owner's manual for this deck, but there is nothing that indicates how to drain the gear case.Hopefully someone here might has some suggestions/solutions for my problem?
Thanks in advance!
