JD Model M fuel tank?

Does anyone know where I could get a new fuel tank for a JD Model M? Looks like part # AM1818T, which may have been replaced by AM702T. I've seen 1-2 places that will refurb them for about $300 -- is that typical? Are people having good luck with having that one? Obviously I'd love to find a new old stock one - I've seen some old ads for some, but nothing recent.
