WOW... which tiller did he quote you on? I looked at my invoice and mine is costing $1798.00 for a RT1160 frontier tiller 57". Was part of a 4410 package . I bought from lawn and leisure Steve there has been Great to deal with, I would try them. Tell him Shawn from Alaska sent you /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I paid about $1500 for a 52" bushhog......

For $3k, it should come with it's own tractor attached.......

I bought a woods GST72 last year for around $3,200. I'm not familiar with the brand you're looking at, but there are cheaper ones out there. I've looked at some of them and it was obvious why they were cheaper. Some of the other ones actually looked pretty well built, but I choose to go with woods since a dealer/service is close by.

For me, parts and service are actually more important than the initial up front cost. If I was just using it a couple times a year for myself, I probably would have found a used one or a cheaper new one.

If im not mistaking x595 is garden tractor right? i know they rip pepole off on those things, It's realy about the same money to get 4110.and buy the larger equipment cheaper than dedicated stuff for deere lawn tractors. JD lawn tractors are out of control on their prices

JD's X595 is a 23hp diesel 4wd Garden tractor and yes their prices are ridiculous. from what I've read i'd be better off with a 2210 or 4010 or 4110 for close to the same price. I'm going to a JD lawn and Garden show this morning to check out these models.

OK this may be a silly question, but does that JD have a 3pt hitch? And what method is used to power the tiller?

I suspect, that is a proprietary tiller that does not used a standard 3pt hitch and is not powered by a standard PTO shaft.

I have a 10 year old Cub Cadet front mount snowblower, it cost me almost $3000, but that is the ONLY blower that will fit my tractor. I also have a much larger Farm King blower for the 3pt hitch of my larger tractors and it cost me $1400 this past December. What I am trying to point out is that the manufacturers hook you on a tractor and then upcharge the heck out of their proprietary equipment because that is the ONLY stuff that fits the tractor.

You may find a pull behind gas powered tiller for about half the price in the Norther Tool catalog or at TSC that are made for small garden tractors.

I just talked with CCM about tillers for my 3130. He helped me from getting a tiller that is to big for my tractor and was very pleasent to work with. The only down side that I can see is that I live in the west and they are in the east, wish you were closer.
