I recently purchased a JD 1250 and noticed oil leaking from the gear shifters. It appears to be leaking from the boots on both shifters. I thought about replacing the gaskets, but didn't know if there were any other parts to replace. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They will all weep a little bit...theres really nothing you can do. All thats there is the rubber boot with a rubber ring around the bottom to hold it tight. What I do is about once a year, I'll take off the boot and the rubber ring, clean them really well and clean the area around the shifters too then put them back on and they're good to go. Unless the boot is torn, theres no sense in replacing...plus, these 50 series tractors are getting harder to get parts for.
