2012 JD X310
I'm looking for some advice or experience. I just got a new (used) 2012 JD X310 with 72 hours on it. As soon as I brought it home I did all the normal maintenance (oil and filter, air filter, plugs, and fuel filter. I topped off the hydraulic reservoir to the full line. Then, I did a couple victory laps around the cul de sac and parked it until my grass got long enough to mow. It worked great, I love this machine!

Then as I was parking it, I noticed a puddle of hydraulic fluid under where the reservoir was, and it was empty again. I'm hoping this is an O-ring or a reservoir problem, and not a transmission problem. I'm away doing military stuff now, so I wont have a chance to deal with it for awhile. Does anyone have any experience with this happening? Is it a common problem. Thanks.

It is something that happens on the older models fairly often. The old ones though had a tube that connected the tank to the transaxle. The clamps would loosen, the tank become brittle over time. These not so much, but my guess is that the tank is askew. I think that one bolt holds it on once the little guard is off and there is an oring where the tank hits the housing.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to see if I can get a buddy to check it out while I'm gone. Part of the reason I wanted PS was so that my wife could easily use it while I was away. Having a relatively easy fix would make me feel a lot better. Plus, we have a dealer pretty close by, so hopefully they can help.

And thank you for your service and having to have to be away from home.

Because I was curious, looked up the X310 on jdparts, and this schematic may help your buddy check out that o-ring that tomplum mentioned. Hope that is it and it is an easy fix.
