So I picked up some mulching blades for my JD X354 mower. I installed the mulching kit which was pretty simple. The JD parts guy gave me some mulching blades M159046. I put them on this morning. I then noticed in the JD manual stated that there痴 a right and left mulching blade. I see no marking as to which side the blade should be installed. Can anyone confirm this? Did I get the wrong blade?

Never heard of such a thing.... Install them and hand rotate them if you think that's true... Also, JD manuals are not exactly error proof....

There is a rear discharge deck for the X354R, and may be what is causing the confusion.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: rear discharge could have a blade spinning each way.
The dedicated 42M mulch deck has R and L blades. That deck may have some airflow kits available, but it wouldn't need a mulching kit. So we're back to what deck you actually have . Otherwise envision what direction the cutting edges would have to be if the belt rotates clockwise looking down from the engine.
