I've had a orphan 210 (no attachments) for a while and a friend recently gave me a JD 30 series tiller. Everything looked to be there, the bracket, lift linkages and hardware. Last week I decided to try attaching to the 210 and found all went great until I hooked up the drive belt. One of the idler pulleys is angled and the drive belt jumps off as soon as I engage the PTO. It lookes like the idlers are set up for a belly mower, (One idler is angled to the left side of the tractor). My question is, should there be a different bracket for the idler pulleys when using a tiller? These idlers are the ones that provide spring tension to the PTO belt, mounted under the engine pulley. I could most likely fab a modified bracket to make it work, but wanted some advice. Thanks.
