For grins I decided to check the hydraulic pressure on my new to me JD2210 and was supprised to consistently get 2400 psi compared to the manuals 1987psi. I used a 4k psi gage mounted to a quick coupler and connected it to the SCV after I disconnected one of the loader lines. The pressure was the same at idle and full throttle.
I think that the factory listed pressure is set that low to reduce the lifting capacity of the loader as it's also used on larger tractors.
I did buy the tractor used (130Hrs in 4 yrs) but doubt that the previous owner shimed the relief valve as it still had the factory fill (red) fluid in the transaxle. I would think someone too lazy to change the fluid is unlikely to be taking apart valves.
Should I just be happy with the extra lift it gives me or do you think it might damage something? I think most hyd pumps should have no problem with this pressure but don't have a lot of experience with hydraulics and would hate to break this as it has no warranty!
Thanks for any replies.
