I am stuck on these two machines and do not know which way to go. This is my first tractor purchase. I have a price on the bota of 35k. Its includes 403 loader, woods bhx80 hoe with thumb, 60" rotary broom.
I am still waiting on a price on the jd. I am leaning towards the bota for its slightly smaller size I do not need a bigger machine mostly using it for light construction and snow removal. However I love the jd features. Any advice would be helpfull. Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

For me, I'd choose the JD without a second thought. I much prefer the cab and general tractor that Deere offers.

I could be wrong but I thought you couldn't do a backhoe with a cab with a JD ? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I am not sure if you can on a deere either. On the kubota the hoe is made by woods specifically for the cab model, the kubota hoe does not work with the cab model.

As of now JD does not have compatability with the backhoe attachment. Maybe if Woods is making one specifically for the Kubota, they will make one for the JD also.

As far as the cab goes, I just got back from the dealer training in FL.. and let me tell you,,, this cab ROCKS!!!!!!

It took them 8 years... but,, wow, was it worth the wait! Styled very much like our other cabs in the 5000 and 6000 tractors... quiet,, almost too quiet,,, you can't really hear the motor very much! (at least with that whopping 15000 btu AC going). And the whole tractor looks and feels like it was made together,, which is the nice thing about Deere designing and building this cab for this tractor.

Very airtight, very nice fit and finish, and GREAT visibility,, even to a bucket that's all the way to it's lift height. (unlike MANY competitors)

So,, if you can find a way to get a backhoe on the tractor, I certainly would would think the JD is the way to go!!

good luck,

The biggest difference between those two is the size and the price. They are really apples and oranges. The Kubota is a smaller, medium duty tractor, whereas the JD is larger in physical size and heavier, too. Equally equipped the JD will cost more. A more equal comparison to the JD 3320 is a L3430 Kubota. JD does not have anything that is a fair comparison to the B3030. The new 2520 is close but is slightly smaller with less HP than the B3030. The best way to find out what you want is to test drive both units and then decide. Bigger is usually better but, smaller will be more manuverable if space is limited. I have a B3030 and am very pleased with it. A larger tractor would be overkill for me. I looked at a JD 3120 before buying the Kubota and it just seemed too big and heavy for my needs which is mostly mowing with some light loader and gardening work thrown in. I bought the tractor that I thought would be the best for me and did not consider price or brand. If JD had something to compare equally to the B3030 then I might have bought Green. I have a JD 318 that I have owned for 15 yrs and am pleased with it. It was just time to move up to something capable of larger projects. You have a tough decision to make but a fun one. Enjoy whatever you buy. Good luck.

hi TeddyD.

I own an open air JD 3320 and love it. I did see a B3030 cab at the local Kubota dealer's lot tonight so I stopped in and got the price off the tag on the tractor. B3030 with cab and loader (did not say which on) was $25030 here in Bloomington IL. Tried to get you a compaison price. Also wanted to see that B3030 Cab up close. Looks very nice! The cab does look a bit out of place on that small of a tractor but I wonder what I will be thinking when I am on my open air 3320 plowing snow! Looks like a nice tractor but for me if I was to buy a cab I think the 3X20 cab line from JD would be the way to go for my needs (or wants as the B3030 would do most anything I would need /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ).

Enjoy whichever tractor you choose.

just an FYI that alot fo the pricing I am readying online for the 3030 cab is sky high - probably because its a new model and in very short supply.

I stopped by the Local Kubota dealer near me. They had a B3030 with cab but no loader for just under $17000. $16998 or something like that. I just took a brief look at it. It had a sales sticker with this price on it. Looked very nice to me for that amount of money.
