G'day all, I'm hoping some knowledgeable john deere aficionado can help me out with JD400 hydraulic plumbing.......
I recently bought a JD400 (haven't even got her home yet) and she has some hydraulics issues. (previously posted to hydraulics forum)
While reading previous posts on this site regarding the trans filter and sludge screen people were saying that the sludge screen hides behind a horizontal plug near the trans filter. After a 160km trip today in 35 degree heat to where my 'hoe currently resides i was going to clean the sludge screen....... there is no horizontal plug near the trans filter but there is a horizontal fitting right at the base of the trans with a short hose connected to it that leads to a horizontally mounted canister filter?? (I'm assuming that the trans filter is the one mounted vertically off the bottom of the trans)
Is this a "home made" set-up or did some models come from the factory like this? The data plate reads; model JD400; code (?) JD400T; serial number is 168676 (then painted) L.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
