Jd4230 transmission pump drive shaft

Tractor stopped locked up. Lifted cab and rocker shaft hex transmission pump drive twisted like cork screw. Brought new one and pump.
Shaft slipped in past bush but can’t get in back crankshaft. Trying not split tractor. Can it be done or is bushing stuffed.

Unclear on exactly which shaft you are talking about on a 4230. There is a quad range and synchro range transmission available for that model -no hydrostatic.
The transmission oil pump driveshaft doesn't appear to interface with the engine crankshaft.

FYI 4230 is a 1970s row crop 110hp. Were you meaning a 4320 compact?
