g42guy,
I have to put in my 2cents.
I had a 425 and it was a good mower and a pleasure to drive, now the buts, I got rid of mine because I thought the 60" deck was too much for it.
The electric clutch did not help, I would have to let it warm up before engaging the blades and then it would still kill the engine sometimes. Several JD servicemen agreed that the 425 should not be sold with the 60" deck.
I checked on prices before I sold mine earlier this year and could buy a new JD 425 2/ws for $7,628, and all wheel steer for $8,490. Those prices were with 54" deck, there was a $474 upcharge for the 60" deck.
I was looking at getting a JD455 but the price with 60" deck, three point hitch and rear PTO was $11,885. I instead got a Kubota
BX2200 with all that and Front End Loader for $12,050
Something to think about.
Good Luck
