Sick Franz on them!!!!

Hope all turns out well.

Okay, all is well.. more or less. The dealer told me that Deere would cover the repair.. no problems there. I think I could have made a good case that they should, but I didn't need to. The dealer was really good about this.

The only downside is that they found a leaking seal on the left front wheel.. unrelated to original problem.. but which will cost $165 to repair. I didn't even know I had a problem there.. but they found it leaking. Not sure why I didn't see it leaking.

But, in the end, it turned out okay.

If folks need specific information about the exact name/numbers of the fix kit, or any such thing, let me know and I'll ask the dealer.

Thanks for the help. Jezebel should be back in the barn by Mon or Tues, which is good because I really need to mow! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Best............Bob

Well, there is a defect in the design of part of the hydraulics, whereby a screen can come loose and plug wherever it ends up sticking. In my case, I lost all rear lift of the 3pt, and the dealer says they are putting in a new spool valve along with the fix kit.

Although the tractor is long off warranty, Deere is covering it.

I have to go out of town today, but will try to call the dealer and find out the specific name, number, etc., of this fix kit.. as others have asked me via PM also.

Hope to have that today, and will try to post it this evening.

I have no idea which specific models have this defect.. perhaps yours isn't one of them. I'll do my best to find out the details today, unless someone else here has more time and can beat me to it.

Later,
Bob

Okay folks, just got back from my trips, and found the tractor home and working fine now.

For those who wanted the details, they are as follows according to my JD dealer:

There are a couple of PIPs (Product Improvement Program) numbers. He said which ones you might need would depend on your serial number.

#02LV048 (Rockshaft Filter Update)

This one has expired, but he says they can still order the parts individually.

#01LV058 (Transmission Suction Screen)

Note that those are all *zeros* and not the letter "O".

Even though my machine is a MY2000, Deere covered both fixes.

Hope this helps someone!

Regards,
Bob

Thanks for that information Trev. Also thanks to the dealer for sharing it too.

As mentioned to you, my screen was blown out, but appeared to be intact (no pieces missing) so the decision was made to assume all the debris that apparently passed by the screen had (has) already been through the control valve for the 3pt. I ordered the new fitting with screen (AM123226) for $12.75 and installed it yesterday. Hopefully it was the right decision, and now to remember to check it "routinely" to keep track of any debris buildup. Almost was tempted to leave the screen out, and just allow the debris (without the screen) to blow through in the future. Then a wad of debris wouldn't collect and get through all at once when the screen couldn't hold it anymore. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
