jd4400 compact tractor pto locked

Rear pto lock indicator light will not go out. Tractor won't start. PTO wasn't locked when problem first popped up. Was told to jiggle the lever so I did. Now it IS locked. Been told the safety switch might be bad. Where is it located in relation to pro lever linkage? Can it be tested for continuity?

Rear pto lock indicator light will not go out.

The switch is under your left butt-cheek. Jumper the 2 wires to disable the interlock.
