Had another set of flashes on my JD4410 tonight, 3 short, 1 long. Everything seems to be working fine. Maybe it's just a maintenance reminder?

I'd love to know if there was a place I could look these up on my own without posting it or calling the dealer each time.

Thanks!

I understand the tech manual has the codes.

I posted the whole list of codes over at the GTT forum in the tech library. FYI there are no maintenance "reminders".

The technical service manual is only about $100 on CD, well worth it if your doing your own wrenching.

It means you hit both forward and reverse pedals at the same time. Check to make sure the return spring is not broke. Might just need a shot of lube too. Could be you just hit both at the same time.

I don't know what the GTT forum is??? Is it on this site? Sorry, bit of a newbie here.

I don't plan on doing my own wrenching, but I like to know what is happening and what the codes mean before I call someone to assist me. If it is as easy as a shot of lube of a disconnected wire (like the last time) I can handle that.

I do wear a size 13 boot, but I am sure I only was it on one pedal.....I will check the return spring and shoot a little CR-56 up there too. (Pending the answer as to what 3 short and 1 long mean....)

THANKS everyone for your help!

Decided to call the dealer - they were very helpful...(Cazenovia Equipment) It means "Throttle Signal Out of Range" At least now I have something to look for (they suggested looking for a loose wire at the sensor at the front of the machine) So maybe its that or some simple lubrication. We'll see. Hopefully I can avoid an expensive repair down the road.

Getting a snow plow installed at the dealer in October, if it still flashing then - I'll let them fix it.

I looked up the code wrong. It is the throttle potentiometer.

There are 3 wires on the throttle position potentiometer. One is ground. One is 5v reference. The middle on is the output to the controller. Use a voltmeter and check the middle wire vs ground. It need to be adjusted from .4v at bottom of travel to 4.7v at the top of travel. Check it on both ends and make sure it has no open spots in the range. There are 2 small bolts to adjust the potentiometer.

thank you Kenny for the download, now saved.
And thank you mfruend for the lesson, I'll probably get someone to help me with that and learn from him first hand.
I used it for an hour tonight and the lights never flashed.....go figure.
