Hello,
I just acquired a 1998 JD 690, has roughly 6300 hours and needed some TLC. Most of the issues were easy, hydraulic leaks, etc. But there is one seemingly "big issue".
First off, if it is in any mode besides "P" mode, it will bog down and die if you try to make any movements (track or boom). So "I", "L" and "E" modes are essentially not useable at all. Once in power mode, I can run the machine, but if you try to do too many movements at once it will "jump" out of mode and into "L" mode and then die. Sometimes when I feel it jumping out of mode I can catch it and it will not fully die, but usually it dies. Cranks right back up and I am off again, but is very annoying and I cannot work at a decent pace because the machine keeps shutting down.
Has anyone felt with this before? I think it is electrical, but I am not sure where to start looking. It is like the machine does not know how to transfer or regulate power.
I looked around for a while to see if there were any other threads or posts about this issue, but I did not see any. If I should be posting somewhere else let me know. I am new to the site, so any advise is welcomed.
Thanks!
