JD750 No power to lights, flashers

1983 JD750 840hrs - new to me - lights dont work.

- Disconnect all fore and aft lights at connectors under hood and under seat
- Found most fuses twice proper rating, replaced with correct, none were or are blown

Observed at fuse box with voltmeter:
- If fuses removed, see good 12v on inside terminals but
- If install fuse then all voltages go away (fuses do not blow but just read no voltages)
- Remove fuses again, again see voltages on inside fuse box terminals.

Tractor starts and runs fine... just no lights.
Wonder if issue with multi-position light switch on dash starving current?
Odd....

Any thoughts?

Thanks, K7LN, I appreciate your insites.
Found the issue to be on the main ignition switch.
Ran a test jumper between B and BR on the ignition switch, Bingo.
The world will be lit up tonight (or whenever I get and install the new ignition switch).
So - prior owner had issues, doubled fuse sizes, overheated and damaged ignition switch internal traces.
Got basic voltage with no current oomph behind it.
