Does anyone know what size socket the rear tires lugs need? I am changing out tires and the highest my sockets go to are 21mm and 15/16. Both are to small.

well after 3 trips to lowes and homedepot , I finally got the right one. It is 26mm. Also the local JD dealer was of no help they had no clue. ANd how multi people can have different sizes ummm???? NOw I am in a bigger pickle the dang impact wrench only broke 1 of the lug bolts loose out of the 12 on both rears. SO now I need to rustle up a breaker bar and ext. ANother thing I was hoping to reuse the tubes not going to happen as I was refilling them with air to help drain the fluid, air is leaking thru the dry rotted tires so now I have to order new tubes. Or go with windshield fluid which isnt cheap here and utube vids saying you get cheaper price with volume purchase well no one told my local part stores managers about such special prices. I thought this would be easy and as usual its turned into a cluster f*** from ****. On a bright note the local truck stop is more then happy to mount the tires.

26mm is a very odd size, 24 or 27mm would be normal size in the metric system. 27mm is popular as it is very close to 1-1/16".

If they are 1" then a 25 mm won't fit as an inch is 25.4 mm. 26 mm will fit but be a bit loose.

But it's a bad choice of dimension if you use the same size word wide.

If this is the correct part number and I'm reading the diagram right, it should be 22mm.

Explain why there are three different wrench sizes listed here:

Metric Bolts - Head and Wrench Sizes
The classic standard are DIN, then came the ISO and made a mess, to save cost ISO reduced some head sizes one millimeter, 19 to 18, 17 to 16 and most cheap tools set stick to DIN. The Japanese has of course had JIS and are fond of 14 and 12 mm in the smaller dimensions.

If you have a truck stop, you might see if they'll sell (or give...) you used antifreeze. Or any auto repair shop for that matter. No worse for anything than washer fluid, and if you can find it, they're usually happy to get rid of it!!
