Morning All
New to this forum and learning a lot, almost too much Info. Need to replace my AC B with mmm with newer tractor. Must have 60" MMM and want a FEL, also want a tiller, but will have to add later I think. I have about 2A here, need to mow and would like to landscape around house, and till garden. Realy do not need a small compact but like a tractor around for all the little things we do.
Want to stay under 15k, not had much luck so far finding a used good tractor with what I want for that here in NW Pa.
Looking at blue, green, and orange so far.
Did find a JD 790 the other night, dealer has it 125 Hrs with FEL, asking 12K and will add 60MMM for another 2430. What do you think of this tractor and how does the price look??
Thanks Roger

Hello and welcome aboard. I had to chime in here because I own a 1998 770 TLB w/ 305hrs that has been a great tractor for me. The price doesn't sound too bad really seeing it's almost new. I've been thinking about selling mine for $14,000 hope this is helpful for comparison info for you.

I just priced one in Ohio and had the dealer to 14700.00 for new 790, FEL and rotary cutter and no mid PTO.... if that is of any help

I bought my J.D. 790 in November of 2001, checked several dealer, the cost
ran between $13,200 to $14,600 for a new tractor 4WD, with FEL, loaded turf tires...
My tractor doesn't have a mid-PTO but is available as a $400 option...

The only draw back to a 790 is it's not available with a HST drive but a similar tractor
in size, weight an price is the New Holland TC 30. The TC 30 is available with HST
drive, expect to pay a $1000 premium for the HYDRO...

I am a recent 790 buyer and I really enjoy mine. Starts and runs beautifully, powerful and smooth. Crosses bumps and ditches great. Butter smooth steering. I previously had hydrostat and the 790 is geared -not a problem.

Sounds to me like a fair price. I bought my 790 two years ago for just under $15k with 35 hours on it in Central PA. It had turf tires, the 70A FEL, and the MMM.

It a great tractor... I use it to mow approx. 7 acres and other general duties.

Good luck!
Henry
